Painting an Autumn Leaf in Watercolour
Join me for a little botanical journey inspired by the colours of autumn.
In this free tutorial, we'll start in the garden, where I'll collect an autumn leaf and explore the science behind its changing colours. Then, we'll move to the painting desk and paint it step by step in watercolour, paying attention to its delicate shapes, veins and subtle colours.
Combining plant science, careful observation and the joy of painting, this tutorial is an invitation to slow down and discover the beauty of the natural world.
The video is available with narration in both Italian and English. Simply select your preferred audio track in the YouTube video settings.

To paint along using the same leaf outline, download the printable PDF, print it on A4 paper at 100% scale, and transfer the drawing onto your watercolour paper before you begin. The leaf measures approximately 12 cm in height.
You can also download the reference photo of the leaf to use as a guide while painting, observing its colours, details and natural patterns.
