ABOUT THIS ARTWORK

Inspired by a Papilio machaon pausing to feed on Verbena bonariensis, this artwork celebrates a fleeting encounter between butterfly and flower. The long, nectar-rich tubular blossoms of verbena attract butterflies throughout the summer, offering both nourishment and a place to rest. Painted with layered watercolour and ink on Hahnemühle Bamboo paper.
